ZELMA BISHOP LINN – Zelma Marie Bishop, 94, Linn died July 31, 2004 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. She was born March 27, 1911, at Elkader, KS to Lonzo I and Henrietta (Odle) Long. Zelma married Alvin M. Bishop on March 25, 1931. To this union two daughters were born, Darlene and Patricia. She was a resident of Ogden and Manhattan Kansas moving back to Linn after the death of her husband in 1977. Zelma worked as a silk finisher and presser in dry cleaning business in Ogden and Manhattan, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; six brothers, Ephraim, Eldon, Lonzo, Arbie, Allen, and Albert Long; and two sisters, Bessie Oehmke and Flossie Tegethoff. Zelma is survived by her daughters, Darlene Reeves and husband Irvin, Florence, AZ, Patricia Cummings and husband Joe, Garnett, KS; 3 brothers, Orville Long and wife Betty, Clarence Long and wife Carol, all of Linn and Charlie Long and wife Sophia, Stuttgart, KS; two sisters, Alma McLaughlin and husband Charles, Clifton, KS and Margie Burk, Manhattan, KS; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral Service was held Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Ward Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor John Frey officiated. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Manhattan, KS. Casketbearers were John Ahern, Todd Culver, Terry Cummings, Cameron Pritchett and Kevin Cummings. A memorial fund was established to The Alzheimers Association.
