Darleen Marie Rothlisberger, the daughter of August and Selma Mueller Beikmann was born June 2, 1928 at Linn, Kansas. She died January 20, 2005 at the Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, Kansas at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 18 days. At an early age her mother died and her father married Marie Herrs who raised Darleen. Darleen attended school in Linn. She was united in marriage to Albert Meier on April 16, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Linn. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1973. Darleen then married Ralph Rothlisberger on July 8, 1977 at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Palmer, Kansas. Darleen and Ralph were members of St. Peter Lutheran Church, rural Barnes, Kansas. She was a lifetime resident of Washington County Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Albert Meier; one grandson Kyle Saylor; one stepson Don Rothlisberger; one daughter in law, Judy Rothlisberger; one step granddaughter, Kim Rothlisberger. Darleen is survived by her husband Ralph of Linn, Kansas; two sons, Steve Meier and wife Deanna of Palmer, Kansas, Mark Meier and wife Susan of Clay Center, Kansas; two step sons, Royce Rothlisberger and wife Laura of Leonardville, Kansas , Dean Rothlisberger and wife Sharon of Berryton, Kansas; three daughters, Trudy Gilbert and husband Robert of Belleville, Kansas, Edith Saylor and husband Kim of Newton, Kansas, Debbie Brown and husband Mike of Urbondale, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Myrna Scardina and husband Duane of Randolph, Kansas; one daughter in law, Diana Rothlisberger of Green, Kansas; one brother, Delbert Beikmann and wife Marcille of Linn, Kansas; 4 sisters, Lorna Beikmann, Lorene Kolle and Verna Beikmann all of Linn, Kansas and Dorothy Mueller and husband Lowell of Garden City Kansas; also survived by 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held, Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Palmer, Kansas with Reverend John Drush officiating. Interment will be held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials have been established to St. Peter Lutheran Church at Barnes; Meadowlark Hospice and the Lutheran Hour. Organist for the service was Sheila Stuenkel and the congregation sang “I Know My Redeemer Lives,” “I’m But A Stranger Here” and “The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll Not Want.” Casket bearers were Jared Meier, Travis Meier, Evan Meier, Lance Saylor, Shawn Esterl and Ryan Swartz.
