Marjorie Hatesohl, 93, of Greenleaf, KS, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. A funeral service was 10 a.m., Friday, September 7, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Greenleaf. Pastor Timothy Lorenz officiated. Arlene Miller played the organ while the congregation sang, "Jesus, Thy Blood and Righteousness", "Children of the Heavenly Father", "Lord, Thee I Love With All My Heart" and "Now Rest Beneath Night's Shadow." The pallbearers were Jared Hatesohl, Shelby Hatesohl, Ed Willbrant, David Willbrant, Steven Hatesoul, John Willbrant, Tim Voelker and Robert Schmieding. Burial was in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Marge was born June 26, 1919, at Washington, KS, to Edward and Arlie (Dixon) Willbrant. She attended Emmons Country School and graduated from Washington High School as the valedictorian of her class. On June 18, 1941, she was united in marriage to Herbert Hatesohl at Auburn, Nebraska. They adopted two sons, Lonnie and Larry in 1952. Marge was involved with the family farm and dairy. She raised chickens and fed calves. She was a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H project leader for many years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and EHU. Visiting with family and friends, her grandchildren, doing gardening, sewing and embroidery were some of Marge's favorite pastimes. She enjoyed collecting colored glassware and displaying it with the different seasons. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert, in 1992; son, Larry; and brothers, Paul and Don Willbrant. Survivors include her son, Lonnie (Debra) Hatesohl, Greenleaf; daughter-in-law, Jeri Hatesohl, Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
