Cecil Grover, 62, of Morrowville, KS, died Monday, February 27 at Washington. A graveside funeral service was at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, at the Hickory Grove (Blocker) Cemetery. Pastor Ron Brown officiated. The honorary pallbearers were Makaela Miller, Tristan Miller, Kori Miller, Makenna Elliott, Kale Miller and Jacob Elliott. Burial was in the Hickory Grove (Blocker) Cemetery. Cecil was born June 14, 1949 at Concordia, KS, the son of Calvin and Tillie (Naylor) Grover. Cecil grew up in the Morrowville area and graduated from Morrowville High School. After high school he worked with bricklaying. At age 21 he returned to Morrowville and began farming. He also worked at the Marysville Sale Barn for seventeen years and ran the Morrowville Café for twenty years. He enjoyed his cattle, collecting antique postcards and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. On April 25, 1980, he was united in marriage to Jean Elliott at Salina. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Tillie Grover; three children, Marci (Kevin) Elliott, Adam Grover, and Kimberly (Shawn) Miller, and six grandchildren (Makeala, Tristan, Kori, Makenna, Kale, and Jacob) all of Morrowville; sister, LeaAnn (Brian) Smith, Yates Center, KS; brother, Jim (Linda) Grover, Morrowville; sister-in-law, Leann Grover, Morrowville. He was preceded by his father, Calvin; and brother, Roy. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
