Eunice K. Hiltgen, 88, died November 9, 2011 at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at Ward Funeral Home in Greenleaf. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf. Father David Metz officiated. Sheila Ouellette played the organ while the church choir sang "Amazing Grace", "Here I Am Lord", "As A Deer Longs", "May The Angels Be Your Guide" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Jason Hiltgen, Cory Wurtz, Chad Hiltgen, Dusty Bonar, Tyler Wieland, Clay Wieland and Jim Bonar. Burial was in the Linn City Cemetery. Eunice was born March 13, 1923 at Linn to Anthony and Lena (Oestreich) Wurtz. She attended school and graduated from Linn. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed watching baseball and basketball games on television. She also enjoyed working puzzle books and watching "Price is Right". She did quilting, embroidery and crocheting. On September 29, 1945, she was united in marriage to Wilfred "Bill" Hiltgen at Greenleaf. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Veryl Wurtz, Loren Wurtz; and sisters, Margie Moffitt and Elaine Bonar. Surviving her are nieces and nephews.
