Roy Dean Grover, 54, died Monday, December 27, 2010 at his home in Morrowville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 30, at the Morrowville Christian Church. Pastors Andrew Lucas and Ron Brown officiated. Burial was in the Morrowville Cemetery. Roy was born July 3, 1956 at Washington to Calvin and Methilda (Naylor) Grover. He graduated from North Central High School in 1974 and then attended Beloit Vo-Tech where he studied Ag Management. He returned and farmed with his brother, Cecil, and worked for the Morrowville Elevator. He then worked at the Farmers Coop and later joined Stanton Farm Services and delivered propane and fertilizer. On September 18, 1976 he was united in marriage to LeAnn Allen at the Morrowville Christian Church. They were blessed with a son, Scott. Roy was a charter member of the Morrowville Lions Club. He was a lifetime member of the organization and loved helping and serving the Lions on the local and state level. Woodworking was a hobby he enjoyed and he made lion cutouts that were sent all over the world. He was also a member of Eastern Star, the Masonic Lodge and the United Methodist Church He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin; and father-in-law, Donald Allen. Survivors include his wife, LeAnn, Morrowville; son, Scott and wife, Jamie, Minneapolis, Kan.; mother, Tillie Grover, Washington, Kan.; two brothers, Jimmy Grover and wife, Linda, and Cecil Grover and wife, Jean, all of Morrowville; sister, LeaAnn Smith and husband, Brian, Yates Center, Kan.; mother-in-law, Eunice Allen, Morrowville; his service dog, Mia; nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated by the family. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
